BEKLEIDUNG UK Imports

Geschrieben von: GreatBrit - Datum: 28.11.2006 10:22

Hello
I brought my VH Transalp to Germany some time ago and have never had troubles buying spares. I have to sell my bike unfortunately, but many people won't buy because they say are told by Honda dealers that parts are hard to get. From my understanding the only difference between the German and UK models was the tacho with miles verses kilometers. Apart from that they are the same including all coloured panels.

Does anyone have experience and might suggest what I can do to convince people about parts availability? Many thanks.

Hi,

You are trying to sell it in Germany, right?

The speedo. The tacho is the same, even the Angloamericans were unable to invent something non-metric for revs :-) On top of that, the headlight might be different, but I am not sure of that. Anyway, using any parts from the European models should be no issue.

Cite me. Link to this site. And maybe the price you ask needs thinking over; the 1987 Transalp is the first model, therefore really old and lacking all the improvements of the later TAs.

Good luck

Manfred

Hi

Thanks for the help. Sorry, I used the German word for speedo which is confusing. The speedo indicates km and miles per hour on the dial. Naturally the distance travelled is in miles. The headlight is also the same as for German models. I thought that for around EUR 1000 that it should be priced OK. It has travelled less than 40km and is in excellent condition. I don't want to have to take it to the UK to sell...
